This project is called dictionaries. It used to be called ask_english_words but the name was changed towards "dictionaries", when the focus became on dictionaries in general rather than merely translations from and to the english language. There are a total of 2402 english words registered, with the associated german translation. (It is german primarily because that is my native language, but in principle this project could be extended to include other languages as well. You only need to add a yaml file containing the key-value pairs.) If you need a more comprehensive dictionary, I can recommend the file de-en.txt that is part of the tu-chemnitz distribution ( https://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~fri/ding/ ). That file is really huge - about 20 MB. In principle, the dictionaries project could be extended to make use of that massive file instead. I will be thinking about this for the time being (starting at July 2018).

This project is a collection of video- and audio-related scripts - multimedia-related actions, such as cutting audio files, merging video files, listening to online-stream radio and so forth. Most of the functionality depends on external projects such as ffmpeg, mpv or sox, so consider installing these projects if you have not already done so. (They should work on windows fine as well.) For more information about this project, please consider having a look at the official documentation (at https://www.rubydoc.info/gems/multimedia_paradise/ or just click on the link called Documentation, at the homepage of this gem at https://rubygems.org/gems/multimedia_paradise/ respectively at https://www.rubydoc.info/gems/multimedia_paradise/ ).

This project can be used for backup-related tasks, although it is primarily adjusted to my own personal use cases, so it may not be of much use to other ruby users. Still - in the event that someone wants to give it a try or re-use existing ideas for inspiration, feel free to have a look at it. For more documentation have a look at the official homepage, at: https://www.rubydoc.info/gems/backup_paradise/

This gem is called pdf_paradise. It attempts to be a swiss army knife, a wrapper, over pdf-related functionality in general, by tapping into external projects, such as prawn, qpdf and so forth. For more information, please have a look at the documentation of the project on the homepage of this gem, at: https://www.rubydoc.info/gems/pdf_paradise/
