BrowserifyRb

browserify wrapper for ruby.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'browserify_rb'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install browserify_rb

Usage

BrewserifyRb has 2 implementations: BrowserifyRb::Browserify, BrowserifyRb::Nvm::Browserify

BrowserifyRb::Browserify

browserify required:

require "browserify_rb"

# if you install browserify in global
br = BrowserifyRb::Browserify.new
puts br.compile("console.log('foo');")
# or
puts BrowserifyRb::Browserify.compile("console.log('bar');")

# if you install browserify in ./node_modules
br = BrowserifyRb::Browserify.new(command: "$(npm bin)/browserify -")
puts br.compile("console.log('foo');")
# or
puts BrowserifyRb::Browserify.compile("console.log('bar');", command: "$(npm bin)/browserify -")

BrowserifyRb::Nvm::Browserify

browserify, node nor nvm are not required. These are installed automatically:

require "browserify_rb"

br = BrowserifyRb::Nvm::Browserify.new
puts br.compile("console.log('foo');")
# or
puts BrowserifyRb::Nvm::Browserify.compile("console.log('bar');")

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake test to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
