Haml (HTML Abstraction Markup Language) is a layer on top of XHTML or XML that's designed to express the structure of XHTML or XML documents in a non-repetitive, elegant, easy way, using indentation rather than closing tags and allowing Ruby to be embedded with ease. It was originally envisioned as a plugin for Ruby on Rails, but it can function as a stand-alone templating engine.

ruby_parser (RP) is a ruby parser written in pure ruby (utilizing racc--which does by default use a C extension). RP's output is the same as ParseTree's output: s-expressions using ruby's arrays and base types. Haskell-style monad do-notation for Ruby

Heckle is unit test sadism(tm) at it's core. Heckle is a mutation tester. It modifies your code and runs your tests to make sure they fail. The idea is that if code can be changed and your tests don't notice, either that code isn't being covered or it doesn't do anything. It's like hiring a white-hat hacker to try to break into your server and making sure you detect it. You learn the most by trying to break things and watching the outcome in an act of unit test sadism.

You don't have to wait until Ruby 2.0 to get (named|keyword) arguments support. Arguments has been tested with Ruby 1.8.6 and ruby 1.9.1 and eventually will work with JRuby
