Bagatelle

Bagatelle is a very simple ORM following the data mapper pattern. It makes it easy to query a relational database and map the results into an object graph of POROs.

No ActiveRecord necessary!

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'bagatelle'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install bagatelle

1. Define a mapper for your parent object
2. Instantiate a storage object
3. Instantiate your mapper
4. Run your query!

  def find(id)
    recursive_map('users', 'id', [id], associations)

storage = Bagatelle::MysqlStorage.new(:host => "localhost", :username => "user", :database => "yourdb")

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
