DarkSkyWeather

Welcome to your new gem! In this directory, you'll find the files you need to be able to package up your Ruby library into a gem. Put your Ruby code in the file lib/dark_sky_weather. To experiment with that code, run bin/console for an interactive prompt.

TODO: Delete this and the text above, and describe your gem

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'dark_sky_weather'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install dark_sky_weather

Usage

First, make sure you have an API_KEY in the .env file then call! To fetch currant conditions:

object_name = DarkSkyWeather::CurrentWeather.currently(ENV['WEATHER_API_KEY'], LATITUDE, LONGITUDE)

Cool methods to call on you new object:

object_name.to_date => "Thursday, 09 Apr 2015  7:25 PM"
.summary
.icon
.precip
.temperature (rounded down)
.apparentTemperature
.humidity

To get an entire weeks worth of weather

object_name = DarkSkyWeather::CurrentWeather.daily(ENV['WEATHER_API_KEY'], LATITUDE, LONGITUDE)

All the above methods will work here plus:
.precip => 50%
.abbreviated_week_day => 'Sun', 'Mon', 'Tues', 'Wed', 'Thur', Fri, or Sun

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
