Multiki
Gem allows you to run asynchronous tasks and them iterate thru results using standard Enumerable interface
to access the results, like .each, .to_a, .reduce, .map and so on.
Installation
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'multiki'And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install multiki
Usage
- Describe your asynchronous tasks as objects that respond to a
callmethod:
tasks = [
->{ call_api(...) },
->{ fetch_website(...) }
]- Create new instance of
Multikiclass and pass tasks to it:
multiki = Multiki.new(tasks)- Get results using standard enumerable methods:
multiki.each do |result|
save_result_to_a_storage(result)
endControl iteration
In order to stop further iteration of task StopIteration can be used:
tasks = [ -> { raise StopIteration.new('API quota exhausted') }]
Multiki.new(tasks).each do |result|
save_result_to_a_storage(result)
endDevelopment
