Reloader

Reloads all your assets with minimal code. Heavily inspired by livereload: http://www.github.com/moccko/livereload . The main difference and the reason why this project has been started is that it will plugin into your Rails app. So you don't have to think about activating or even installing a browser plugin. In development it will automatically reload assets when they are changed when you add this gem to your gemfile e.g.

gem "reloader"

That is also the way you should be installing this gem, through bundler. See the TODO file for stuff that is still open. Note that this project is currently complete for my personal usage, but I don't want to give guarantees for others yet.

Usage

Start your rails app and in the root directory of your Rails app:

bundle exec reloader

Then start editing files and see how things are being reloaded!

== Note on Patches/Pull Requests

  • Fork the project.
  • Make your feature addition or bug fix.
  • Add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
  • Commit, do not mess with rakefile, version, or history. (if you want to have your own version, that is fine but bump version in a commit by itself I can ignore when I pull)
  • Send me a pull request. Bonus points for topic branches.
