RestrictCache

Gem Version Code Climate

Restricted cache in the rack request.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'restrict_cache'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install restrict_cache

Usage

Using the middleware to clear the cache for each request.

module MyApp
  class Application < Rails::Application
    config.middleware.use RestrictCache::CacheSweeper
  end
end

Caching the object of ActiveRecord by using the find_with_rc.
Get record of the same id in the request from the cache.

class MyModel < ActiveRecord::Base; end
MyModel.find_with_rc(id_or_ids)

Generation of custom cache class by inheriting the RestrictCache::Base.
Custom cache class behaves like ActiveSupport::PerThreadRegistry.

class MyCache < RestrictCache::Base
  attr_accessor :my_value
end

MyCache.my_value = "caching value"

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
