Rspec::GraphQLTypes

This library can be used to unit test GraphQL types from the 'graphql' library.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

group :development, :test do
  gem 'rspec-graphql_types'
end

And then execute:

$ bundle install

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install rspec-graphql_types

Usage

Add the following to your rails_helper.rb

RSpec.configure do |config|
  config.include Rspec::GraphQLTypes, type: :graphql_type
end

Then you can write tests as follows

RSpec.describe Types::MyType, type: :graphql_type do
  it "does something awesome" do
    object = graphql_object(Types::MyTypes, {passed: in})
    expect(graphql_field(object, :field_name, arg1: value1, arg2: value2)).to eq("The Result")
  end
end

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and the created tag, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
