A library of extensions for outoftime's sunspot gem for solr indexing server. Using the session adapter design pattern to add support for: 1) delayed_job to move indexing commits out of process. Support for case insensitive sort fields by creating indexed copy of fields transformed for sort.

Sunspot::Rails is an extension to the Sunspot library for Solr search. Sunspot::Rails adds integration between Sunspot and Mongoid, including defining search and indexing related methods on Mongoid models themselves, running a Sunspot-compatible Solr instance for development and test environments, and automatically commit Solr index changes at the end of each Rails request. This is a thoroughtly hacked version of original sunspot_rails gem.

Sunspot manages the configuration of persistent Ruby classes for search and indexing and exposes Solr's most powerful features through a collection of DSLs. This gem ties into the Rails model lifecycle to add support for calling Sunspot index on another model when data it relies on for its index is from an associated model.
