RubyGems API Client

Welcome to the RubyGems API gem! In this repository, you'll find the files you need to be able to interact with the RubyGems API quickly and easily.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'rubygems_api'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install rubygems_api

Usage

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'rubygems_api'

Require the gem:

require 'rubygems_api'

And then begin working:

rubygems = Rubygems::API::Client.new 'myAPIKey'
# If you don't want to include the API key when creating the client, you can retrieve it with HTTP basic auth.
rubygems.set_api_key('username', 'password')

# Begin working with the api

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
