:http:

  :host: 0.0.0.0

The ":test" section is used just if you want contribute to the application development.

After starting ses_proxy the first step is to setup your application to use the proxy as smtp server. If your application is a Rails application, you can also use this gem ses-proxy-rails.

Then you have to setup your SES bounce and complaint notifications through SNS (Simple Notification Service) with a subscription that has "http://yourhost:port/sns_endpoint/" as endpoint. For more details see AWS Documentation This configuration allows ses-proxy to collect the email addresses which cause problems. When ses-proxy receives an email, checks if there are some blacklisted recipient, so as to be able to remove this addresses.

Moreover you can see all the blacklisted address and all sent mails through a easy web application that is located at "http://yourhost:port". The basic HTTP Authentication uses the credentials defined in :http_auth section in ses-proxy.yml file.

###Stop command

This command has effect only if you start ses_proxy like a daemon.

##Contributing to ses-proxy

  • Check out the latest master to make sure the feature hasn't been implemented or the bug hasn't been fixed yet.
  • Check out the issue tracker to make sure someone already hasn't requested it and/or contributed it.
  • Fork the project.
  • Start a feature/bugfix branch.
  • Commit and push until you are happy with your contribution.
  • Make sure to add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
  • Please try not to mess with the Rakefile, version, or history. If you want to have your own version, or is otherwise necessary, that is fine, but please isolate to its own commit so I can cherry-pick around it.
