SpreeDigitalPaymentNotice

spree_digital_payment_notice shows a message above the payment methods at checkout when the cart contains digital products.

Digital goods often come with payment caveats — cash on delivery makes no sense for a download, and a bank transfer delays access until the payment clears. This extension lets you explain that in your own words, per store, without touching any template.

• Two separately configurable messages:
  • Digital only — every item in the cart is a digital product
  • Mixed — the cart has both digital and physical items
• Edited from the Spree admin (Settings → Store → Checkout)
• Nothing renders when the message is left empty, so the extension is inert until you choose to use it

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'spree_digital_payment_notice'

Then run:

bundle install

No migration is needed — the messages are stored in the store's preferences.

Go to Settings → Store → Checkout in the Spree admin and fill in either message. They appear at the top of the payment step, above the list of payment methods.

Spree decides what counts as digital from the product's shipping category, so a product is treated as digital when its shipping category has a digital delivery shipping method.
