SlidayBackup is a RubyGem, written for UNIX-like operating systems, that allows you to easily perform backup operations on both your remote and local environments. It provides you with an elegant DSL in Ruby for modeling your backups. SlidayBackup has built-in support for various databases, storage protocols/services, syncers, compressors, encryptors and notifiers which you can mix and match. It was built with modularity, extensibility and simplicity in mind.

This is the code that stretched.io uses for dynamic scripting. As with anything that calls instance_eval on code from a data store, use cautiously.

A simple gem for writing good basic workers

CAUTION: Use this gem at your own risk. If you use gems that depends on the thread_safe gem, e.g. Rails, but your application is not doing any threading, then thread_hazardous can bring you a few performance improvements at the cost of making these dependencies non thread safe.
