The customized_piwik_analytics gem provides an easy way to include Piwik into your application. By default it will output the synchronous piwik tracking code for every page (given that it is configured correctly). In this version add option for specify protocol (http/https/etc) for Piwik requests.

RiakRest provides structured, RESTful interaction with the HTTP/JSON interface of a Riak[http://riak.basho.com] document data store. RiakRest provides two levels of interaction: Core Client and Resource. Core Client works at the Jiak level and exposes Jiak internals. JiakResource is an abstraction built on top of the Core Client that gives a true RESTful feel.

Threaded producer/consumer model. Useful when you have an expensive data producer, such as fetching data over many http connections, and an expensive consumer, such as ingesting into a database.

Grab and eval Ruby code via HTTP. You don't care about security, right? This gem is Dr. Nic's fault. We were looking for an easy way to run Ruby code that was publicly available on a web server, and though we've all written something to do this a time or two, we couldn't find a convenient gem. I hacked up a quick example: ruby -rubygems -ropen-uri -e \ 'eval open("http://gist.github.com/raw/473222/snippet.rb").read' \ jbarnette dr-nic-magic-awesome ...but why use a simple Ruby one-liner when we can go overboard and package it as a gem? While we're at it, why not add a tiny bit of extra sugar for Gists? This is not an original idea. It's been done a ton of times before, but this one is ours. Don't use it for anything real or it'll melt your face.

This gem enables users to learn more about music artists with data from the Spotify API. Users are prompted to search for an artist. The app returns the first search result from Spotify and allows users to see the artist's top tracks, album releases, genres or related artists. For the latter option, users can choose one of the related artists and view artist details for that artist in turn. Finally, users can review a list of all artists they have browsed. The app makes use of the RSpotify gem for OAuth authentication, HTTParty to retrieve data from the API, and dotenv to store client_id and client_secret. As explained below under Usage, this means that users will need to obtain their own credentials from Spotify and store them in their own .env file.
